What is going to happen to the bite with all this bad weather coming through? We are getting ALOT of water with these storms so will they still try to go shallow to spawn or will they be scattered?

Find fresh risen water in grass. Go fishing. Don't know about crappie, but bass love it and we all know that we need to get as many of those out of the lake as we can:D

Your right RCC, those green carp are biting in the overgrown fields and bair thickets around Nimrod Lake. The yo yo 'ers should do well on Crappie and Catfish in the backwater. For the biggest part my Crappie fishing is over till the water is gone. Nimrod supose to crest Sat. at 362 msl. Normal pool is 345 spring/ 342 fall.

Running lines in the Ark River is done for a few weeks. Ended up getting all but around 500 hooks and 2 nets out before the water caught up with me Monday night. 235,000 CFS now and floating logs all over the place.

Black River has barely crested at Black Rock at 30.45 ft., the 3rd highest crest on record, only the 1915 and 1982 crests were bigger. The forecast is to stay barely above 30 ft. for the next few days. This does not include any rain hitting after 6:00a, so it could get higher. White River is about to flood big but not at near record levels. The Mississippi is flooding big and is getting bigger which means White River won't be able to drain out which means Black River won't be able to drain out which means the oxbow and river fishing in a big part of Arkansas is not going to be any good for quite a while.

I think I may just wait a bit before I try again. Maybe once the waters reside a little and I get my boat motor fixed I'll get back on the waters.

You could catch a bunch in the smaller tributaries. We used to limb line the Petit Jean during high water and do good.

I went out on Dardanelle bay a little while this AM thinking there will be some clear water but it turned out to be stinkin thinkin. Clearer than the rest of the lake but pretty dingy. The water temp was 62, probably cooler than that on the main lake. I will be concentrating on the bass at Nimrod for a week or so.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

    Nimrod,

I had a hundred or so limblines that I bait every night caught up in the high water too. I set a couple hundred out up the creeks and washouts Tuesday night and have done decent. Only problem is a bunch of leaves and twigs are loading up my hooks. Snakes are terrible too. Been a while since I've seen as many snakes as I've seen the past 2 nights. My pound per fish average ain't near as good, but it keeps my guy busy.
