Thread: Beck's Lake or Ms.Becks's Lake

I have fished Becks before. There is some real good fishing there for bass and crappie. I never had much luck with jigs. Seems like they want minnows. May have something to do with there being so many shad in the reservoir. Biggest crappie I ever caught there was at least 2 1/2 lb. My mother-in-law caught a 7 1/2 lb bass there on a cane pole with a minnow. The entrance on hwy165 has a cable across it at times when they don't want you in there. Don't know the reasoning on when they allow access and when they don't. Seems haphazard to me. Better have a backup destination just in case.

Cool... I heard there where some nice crappie their that are hard hittters, and are nice sized! Also heard that it is regulated or patroled by Game&Fish... Did you have to pay??

2 weeks ago there were 20 trucks at the landing, but this week, there have been 0-2 each afternoon.

I was there last friday, didn't do that good, brought home only 4 crappie and it wasn't from lack of trying. It may be a good place, but I couldn't tell it.
