Default Preparing for Battle On Lake Conway

Hooks will be sharpened, Jig Poles will be crossed and broken, lines will be tangled, boats will hopefully not be damaged, and maybe a few cuss words will be heard shouted across the still waters of Lake Conway come April 8th and 9th. :D I hope to see you all out there fighting to Find Silver Glory on the water with me, and bring a Championship home to Arkansas. Thanks Ski Trip for your help and what a nice catch u got in that Pic.

Sliping out under the cover of darkness? Good looking stakebeds. Try you some pallet stakebeds in areas with soft bottom. We are catching them right now stage'n over pallets. Sure hope you get better weather next month. This water should warm fast but the wind is killing us here.
Oh yea, those are some nice specks. Sure wish we had more big specks, most of ours are whites. Good luck on the tournament.

what are you using to make the concrete form for your stake bed. those are really sharp. I would like to make some for down south here on the river.

Used a 2x10 cut 12 inches long for the sides and screwed a 12" x 15" piece of particle board to the bottom, with 1 1/2" sticking out on each end. Then screwed a 2x10 cut 15 inches long for the ends so they could be removed when the concrete cured. You end up with a box 12 inches square on the inside with a particle board bottom. All the lumber came from a residential construction site. Real easy to make and can be used over and over. In the process of building about 10 more so we can build about 20 at a time.
