Little Maumelle River Action

I'll be going Friday (14' jon with a nissan 15hp). I always put in at the public launch at I-430. I went last Friday and caught a few, the water temp was 43. I was using blk/chart jig in about 8' of water over brushpiles. I'll probably stay downstream of the marina, until the spawn gets a little bit closer. I'll let you know how I do Friday.

We fished the Cypress last weekend with little success. We did better fishing the edge of the channel. As far as the boat ramp, its about a 30 minute boat ride to the cypress lake from the 430 bridge because you have to go so slow. If you can launch off the road to maumelle park you would save a lot of time.

Anyone been to the baitshop at the river valley marina? I was just wondering what types of bait they had for sale. Minnows, crickets, worms?

How far back in the cypress did you go? All the way back to where it becomes a creek channel? What ledges were you fishing? I know of several spots in there but I haven't fished it yet this year. I will be there all weekend this weekend, I am camped at Maumelle park.

started picking up a few 200-250 yards past the gas line. (Big Pipe) just after a bend to the left. The channel is about 15-20 ft out past the cypress. We didnt make it all the way to the back bk we ran out of sunlight. Let me know how you do.
