Seen some made from PVC pipe with yoyos hanging on them.
I have a friend in my deer camp who used to fish with some homemade floating yo-yo rigs. They were made of cut out styrofoam for the float and some bent wire that the yo-yo hung from.
Anybody ever seen such a contraption?
He keeps promising to bring me one to look at but he keeps forgetting. Says he used to wear the crappie out on Chicot. I would like to make a few and try them out if anybody has any idea ho to do it.

I love running my floating yo-yo's. Mine are made out of PVC pipe. My a square 18" to 24" and on two sides put a tee in, up to an elbow. 5 elbows and 2 tee plus pipe. 4 pieces, 2 other sides. Can make a lot in a short time.
then just tie yo-yo to top. I fish a lake with no brush around it. And I can put these out over my brush piles, tie off to a dock. just have to run them down, as they will swim off with them. 22lbs cat is the biggest fish so far.

Got any picturs of 'em? I've never seen anything like you guys are describing. All I've ever seen was yo-yo's tied to limbs.

Yeah i have used the pvc ones... My buddy used to have a dozen made up and we could wear the crappie and catfish out with them.. Caught sixty five catfish in two hours one night with seven of them... You want to talk about some work, they will wear the fish and you out!!!

I don, thave pic,s but used to fish somethat I made out of 1 IN black water pipe. 2 ft, piece with hose barb t. bend around into circle and insert t to form circle, cut a straicht piece about a ft long and insert on T. you can move t up or down for right height. drill hole in end and tie on yo,yo. Might have to pull out some line and cut of so you have enough tension on spring to set hook. also can take water pipe insulation and put a couple of 6in pices to increase flotation. they will float around just like jug fishing. What I like about this rig is if you are fishing where you have short stickups you just set it down over stickup and they can,t run away with it. caught lots of fish and lots fun. I would caution you to check regs locally because I would think they would be treated same as jugs.

I have been doing this for years... Get a CLEAN oil bottle. I put cement in the bottom about 2" thick on 1 side and 1" thick on the spout side. This allows your yo-yo to be tied and siliconed to the top where it is visible. Play with 1 a bit in some water to get the cement angle right for it to float straight up. I Usually add slushy cement and prop one side of the bottom on a 1x4 for the angle...My record is a 32Lb blue cat..
Question:
In the video fast count look like he had 5 set out.
I thought there was a limit on how many poles and hooks one could use........does that not apply to the yo yos?
