BW - Hey thanks I drive a Tahoe with 4WD and a winch. I have put my boat in almost anywere. I just hate those sneaky cypress knees. They take out a trailer light every year. I have fished Bradford Lake 1 time and didnt do to well it was shallow in half of it. I have just started fishing this area and have talked to some guys while I was fishing taylor bay. That Horshoe Lake by Russell looks good. Is it private and does the White get in it. Thanks for the info.

I taught school at Bradford about 40 yrs ago, and fished most of the lakes around there. Departee Crk starts in Independence Cty and I think it has 13 small lakes on it. Haven't fished it in a long time.

It would be tuff but you might be able to get it in Bradford Lake. That is way I have a 12-36 FandF boat with a 9.9 yamaha. lots of times I pull it with my 4 wheeler to put it in anywere. Lots of times I even take the motor off to make it easyer to drag it over the logs. That is my crappie fishing rig for the smaller and hard to get spots. Billy if you want to go with me sometime just let me know.

Bradford has been fished alot this year, Horseshoe is low right now the deepst water you will find in their might be 3 ft . but their are some really good fish their. That is were i grew up at, i love that lake, their are certain spots to fish if you decied to go their let me know and i can give you some pointers on were to go. I will probley go their this weekend and try it it should be good now that the bigger fish are on the move. And yes when the White gets 29ft it gets in the lake. It is privately owend but anyone can fish it. If you plan on fising it you better hurry before the yo yoers get started.

Plan to fish lower end of bull shoals near dam this afternoon. Caught 3 real good slabs last hour of yesterday. Not much time to fish. Surface temp 69, 10 ft deep, over brush pile, 1/16 slater jig, flour red head-orange maribou tail with silver flash body. Casting to brush, countdown and slow retrieve. Will let you know how i do. Anyone else fishing bull?

Were is the guage. I use Augusta for a lot of the lakes. I will keep you in mind. It sounds like a good place to wade. How hard is the bottom or have you ever wadded it. BillyE

The gauge is at Augusta at bunges, their is no way you can wade it, the bottom is way to soft and silty. I know I had to swim for my boat one time. It is hard for a fat boy to pull himself up in a boat without using the bottom to push off. Done real good this weekend their, tried fishing Murphy but the river was rising and with the current comining in it they just dont bite good. Fished Horseshoe Sat. caught 34 keepers, some were some really nice fish. Fished the creek Sun. and caught 45. The fish thier were better fish. Keep me in mind when you make it this way.
