It would be best to give the title folks a call. Sometimes it can be a real pain in the a** to get a boat or trailer titled. One time I went in, carrying my boat registration, to get the renewal. The lady told me they had no record of the boat being titled! I replied, "well, I've got the old papers in my hand", but this was to no avail. I had to re-register the boat......

I had a similar encounter. I inherited a johnboat from my grandfather when he passed. Went to get it registered and the lady asked for a bill of sale. I told her I inherited the boat when Grandpa passed and there was no bill of sale. She proceeded to ask me if I could get a note from the previous owner that the boat was not sold

I asked her what part of inherited from my deceased grandfather she didnt understand or if she knew a really good medium that could conference him in.

Go by your local revenue office and they can provide you with a blank bill of sale. Fill it out, sign where appropriate, take it back in and let them help ya.

I've done a couple and if you have no motor on it, its nothing.

fishtaco is right...it's not all that difficult and if you come up with a trailer for it later on, just say it's homemade and it won't be hard to get it titled either

My wife is one of the sweet ladies at Ar. Revenue. My dad's boat hadn't been reg. in a few years. Brought in old reg #'s which were on the boat (a 1985 Duracraft)...system couldn't find a record. She told me to find the "hull #" (on stern0. When they looked it up, they found it in the system.
