I think I'm gonna take another week off from fishing. Haven't been since the weekend before Thanksgiving. Lost where they are, think they've scattered. At least they're not holding onto our bamboo crappie condos.

I've got grandkids tomorrow, but I may try Portia Bay Sunday. Saw CEB's report, and I was up there this week looking at a job to bid, and it looked good. I haven't fished it in over 20 yrs.

Creek - Not for sure if I'll be able to go, but the DesArc Bayou in DesArc is getting hot! From the launch, go towards the gridge. Watch DF and stay on the northern drop offs where it goes from 18-27 FOW and fish 8 foot deep with pink and white jigs, 1/8 oz. head.

Never have fished it---always looked good. Trolling or single pole fishing?

I haven't been on Lake Monticello since July and I think it might be time to give the deep water a try. I re-rigged all my crankbait rods the other day so I will probably start off with them on the flats and then switch to spider rig later in the day. It may take a while to get tuned back up on that lake to find 'em and then figure out what they will bite. It's supposed to be sunny with light to calm winds so it should be perfect if the fish will cooperate.

Probably try the shoe with my 12 year old daughter. She has been begging to go all week. It'll be cold but maybe if the fish turn on, we won't notice too much.

Last Saturday portia was ok then Sunday tapered offsome. Today even slower.Caught about 25 with only 4 good keepers.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
