Great season GTT, enjoyed following it.
Well, our season came to an end last night as Mt. Ida beat us 33-20. They had slow methodical 3 yard, 4 yard, 3 yard type of offense and kept the ball all night long. They also snuffed both of our RBs, #3 and #5, which I never thought would have happened. Our senior QB was out with a severe ankle sprain and that affected us, but our sophomore QB came in and played very well and had 3 TD passes.
We'll miss our seniors, but we are loaded with juniors and had several sophomores and freshmen make terrific plays this season so I'm expecting next year to be just as fun, exciting, and successful as this year was. Harmony Grove went 8-5 this year, which might not look too impressive, but three of our losses came against teams who will be playing next Saturday.......Mt. Ida plays Hampton for the 2A championship and Prescott is in the 3A championship game as well. We have played some very good teams this year and made a deep run in the playoffs. We also had a huge fan turnout at all of our away games, especially the last two which were 3 1/2 and 2 1/2 hours away, respectively. I'm proud of our team and especially my #79. One more year to go for that old wiley veteran 3 year letterman center of mine.

Thanks Tracker. I hope to do it again next year. We were good this year and exceeded expectations a bit, but next year should be equally as good. We have one kid, in particular, who moved in from another school and his grades weren't where they needed to be so he's not playing this year. He's working on grades and expects to be with us next year. He's a difference maker! Hornets will win a few games next year.
Excellent post - that's what it's all about. Thanks, made me smile.

Just a little last bit of info. Mt. Ida WON the State Championship game today beating Hampton 27-26. Came down to Mt. Ida stopping a 2 point conversion with about 2 minutes to go. Great game. Maybe that'll be us next year.
