CHG travels to El Dorado to play Parkers Chapel Thursday night. This finishes off our regular season. With a win, the Hornets clinch a home playoff game. With a win AND a Bearden win over Strong, the Hornets clinch a 2nd place finish in the conference behind Hampton. CHG is picked by 24, which is scary to me. No one likes being picked to lose by that many at home, so we're expecting Parkers Chapel to be a little bit fired up. Hoping for a safe game so we can get ready for the 2A playoffs which start on November 11.

CHG 31-Parkers Chapel 7. Hornets took care of business, but the game was kind of quiet and almost uninspired. Kids did what they had to do, but there was almost no excitement. Both bleachers were rather quiet. Almost like both teams just wanted to make it through this one without any injuries. I believe both did. PC has some good players and I wish them luck in the playoffs next week. Not sure yet who CHG will play.......hope we're ready. GTT

CHG hosts Palestine Wheatley this Friday at the Grove. Hoping to advance to host the winner of Hector vs Rison. GTT

My Harmony Grove Hornets won tonight 34-14 over the Palestine Wheatley Patriots. Good game for us. Next week, the Hector Wildcats will visit the Grove! They'll be a very formidable opponent, for sure! GTT

Harmony Grove played the BEST game I've seen them play all year. HG 26-Hector 22. Hector came in a 9 point favorite and averaging 40+ points per game. They have an excellent QB! Hornets contained him pretty good and our RB #5 who I've pictured several times had a huge game! Next Friday, we travel to Cross County. Gonna enjoy this win for a while. GTT

Well, I said that HG played the best game last week.....that was until this week! Thriller in Cross County tonight as the Hornets take it 39-38 with less than a minute to go.
Hornets start out on fire and lead 24-0 after the first quarter, then go to halftime up 27-8. Cross County scores twice in the third quarter to make it 27-22 going into the fourth. They score and take the lead 30-27. Hornet running back #5 returned the ensuing kickoff back to regain the lead 33-30. Cross County scores with 4 minutes to go, retaking the lead 38-33, then force us to turn the ball over on 4th down at our own 30 yard line with 2 minutes to go. HG has gotta have a stop! We did get it, stopping them on 4th and 2 at our 22 yard line. Next play........HG quarterback throws a short pass to his WR, who laterals the ball to #5, who races down the sidelines for the go ahead score 39-38 with 30 seconds to go! #5 had three scores tonight. Proud of that young man and ALL the Hornets' players, cheerleaders, band, coaches, staff, and fans.
Next week, we face Mt. Ida in the fourth round of the playoffs. Winner plays the winner of Hampton vs England in the State Championship Game in Little Rock on December 10.
I'm gonna post more pics IF I get any more. GTT

Hoping for a bunch of these on Friday night! GTT

Game day is here! Harmony Grove is buzzing over our Hornets! Win or lose tonight, we're proud of them all and we've enjoyed this roller coaster of a season. Hope it continues one more week..........
Now, here's one that I wanted to post to lighten things up a little bit. I have seen John do this in warmups and told people about it and got some very strange looks. Nah, a big man can't do that! Oh yes he can! "Where his head at?"
Good luck Hornets tonight vs Mt. Ida!
GTT
