Scrimmaged Junction City tonight at their indoor facility. Very nice turf field about 30 yards long and looked to be regulation wide. We had some nice plays and they did too. Junction City will be hard to beat in 3A this year! HG Hornets were scrappy and I was proud of our boys. GTT
Good luck to the your team this year.I'm sure gonna miss it since my son graduated , nothing like Friday night lights! Thought we would start all over this year with my 7th grade boy after missing last 2 seasons with his cancer treatments, but a broken finger put a quick stop to that. 6 weeks in a cast and only 7 games he is pretty bummed out. Hope the new coach at Bryant can lead the way for them they took a pretty bad blow from PA in a scrimmage the other night 69 to 7.salt bowl this week so we shall see how they stack up. Going to be pulling for coach Calley and his new school Haskell Harmony Grove great man coach great hire for them! Last but not least if anybody tells you it's not hard to take your boy to college and leave him is lying. 2nd hardest thing I've ever done! Good luck to all the teams and safe travels.

Gameday is finally here and I'm ready to watch my boys tonight. Weather is gonna be right for some football. Hornets vs Buckaroos is usually a good game. We've come up short against Smackover for the past 5 or 6 years.......maybe tonight will be the streak breaker. Gonna be a hard hitting fight for sure. GTT
We have a 50 yard indoor facility over here. 5A East. Lightning fast this year. I'm hearing Wynnes got a barn burner tail back. Forrest city I'm hearing has a Q back that can smoke the chains. Can't wait to see them face our O line! Hope your boy pushes and blocks well tonight. Good luck. Woo pig

Thanks. Can you tell I told him to smile, for once. Goofy grin! Hey, that's my son.....all seriousness before the game and wouldn't talk to me. Wouldn't hardly speak at halftime either. Then let himself enjoy the moment afterwards. He hates losing and always has. Even in peewee when some kids are playing in the dirt or wanting nachos and hot dogs during the game.......nope, not John. It's all about the game. It's that way with his teammates too. They are a special bunch.
Got our hands full next week in the home opener as Prescott comes to visit. We beat them last year for the first time ever. It's gonna be a tough one for sure. Not gonna think about that just yet, though. A friend from school had two tickets to the Arkansas game today and she and her husband decided not to go. They let me have them, so John and I are going to see the Razorbacks today. Go HOGS! GTT
Way to go HG!!!! Your boy looks like he would be a beast on the field!
