Thread: Wapannocca Lake near Turrel, Ark.

Several years ago we use to fish Wapannacca lake near Turrel Ark. for Bluegills and did very well. I can't seem to find any useful info on the internet about it. I tried calling the Refuge office, and never get anyone to answer the phone. Is it still open for fishing and if so, how is it etc? Thanks

Before the rain we were doing pretty good with the crappie. The big gills will start before long. I haven't heard anything bout the fishing in a couple weeks. Figure it's starting to clear back up.

Yes....It opens March 1st. I haven't been this year yet, but have been told people are catching some fish and yes, the big bluegills are still in there.

Any idea if the water cleared up? Thinking on going tomorrow.

Haven't heard about the water, but I wouldn't think its a issue. I will see what I can find out

31 I caught on Sat and Sunday a few weeks ago. Haven't fished a full day there. Could prolly scratch out a limit. All were nice fish.

So you guys know the water is way up in the parking lot. Didn't even try to launch. Went to houge and picked on the little fish a few hours.
