Last I heard they were pumping oil into Lake Conway down around Mayflower. Fish at your own risk, and never flip a lit cigarette into the water.

Conway Corp once had effluent waster water flowing into stone dam creek which feed into lake Conway. The plant is no longer in service therefore many nutrients once entering the lake no longer are there. I believe this will have an impact.

Mercury getting into the lake/water? We're always looking for the man made form, a leak from a plant. I was watching a kids program (Caption Planet) with my granddaughter years ago. There are 111 or so videos on Utube so it's kinda hard to find it. This big business pig looking guy wanted to build a lake. He wasn't going to remove any of the trees and brush from the valley before building the dam. Green wood expels mercury into the water as it ages. We add green wood for habitat so we are adding to the problem too.

I started fishing Conway last summer. Concerning the oil spill on Conway I kind of like the idea I can save money because of it. I no longer have to buy Crisco to cook my crappie as they come pre-oiled and ready for the frying pan. I has no seeen any side effecds fronm ateing fsh from Comwayy.
