Default going to try the baiting thing

I'm thinking I'm going to try the baiting catfish hole method this week. I am going to try using dogfood and range cubes on a private access lake. I figure I will start slinging food and cubes on Wed. after work, and thursday, and then Friday if I can make it out. And go Saturday and start trying to pull in the cats.

If I can find the time, I have a buddy that started a brewery up in LR. I might try (later) using spent brewers grain that I can leave out in the sun for a day or 2. But that will be a couple of weeks before I can get to the brewery for those.

I wish I had the time and resources Nimrod has with his baiting methods, but I'll use what I can, when I can.

Good luck! I have a 55 gallon drum of soured grain that I am about to start dropping in a few holes on Pickthorne. I used two sacks of grain, 15 tubs of chicken liver, 5lbs of sugar, and a couple packs of brewers yeast. Fill with water and wait a few days, stirring after a couple days. Pretty potent stuff, and if the cats ain't biting, you can take a shot or two of the juice!!

Might have tried a sip or two if it weren't for the chicken livers.

We might need to meet up and fish with each other a time or 2. I'm in Scott and baiting on Old River, and Pickthorne isn't but a hop skip and jump away from the house.

Sounds good. I marked a few holes last weekend. I'll prolly start baiting this weekend if it stays dry for a few days. I'll let you know how we do.
