Thread: Whose ready for football?

Here's a pic my niece took of some of the guys coming off the field right after a touchdown drive. My son, #51, is one of the linemen who opened a hole for the running back, #23, to run through on the play. Those boys really love each other. Ahhh, the boys of Fall. GTT

WOW, how things can change in just a short time. The high school team had one kid suffer a serious concussion last week and although things are OK with the young man, his football career is over based on his parents' and doctor's decision. Another player up and quit this week and I get a memo from the coaches that they want to pull my son up from the junior high team to play on the high school team. SO, we're now playing on Fridays and are going to McGehee tomorrow night. My son's junior high team is playing tonight in Smackover and we're gonna keep supporting that team as well. Smackover tonight, McGehee tomorrow night! Gonna give my old truck a stretch, but I do love football almost as much as I love fishing!

Hornets 15 - Buckaroos 14. Thrilling game that came down to the last seconds and ended with a Harmony Grove interception of a Smackover pass on the 1 yard line to end the game. Kids on both teams played hard and one young man for Smackover left in the ambulance with a broken arm. Hate so much that that happened.

Hornets are 3-1. Good times ahead! I'm thinking my son should NOT have moved up and he could have played tonight and been a part of tonight's game. We'll see how tomorrow night turns out in McGehee. GTT

McGehee 63 - Hornets 32. My son played well, except for one snap over the punter's head. Otherwise, the big freshman held his own with the big boys tonight. Coaches bragged on his play, which made him and us feel a lot better, despite losing badly. Time for bed. GTT

Fouke came to Harmony Grove tonight just ahead of a huge line of storms. Game got called in the 3rd quarter with the score Fouke 8 - HG 7. Better to be safe than sorry. Hope the Fouke people get home safely as they are heading right into the storms.

My son will play in his first Homecoming game tomorrow night against Genoa Central. Good luck Hornets tomorrow night! GTT

Good game at Fouke tonight, interrupted by thunderstorms. Just getting home after 1 a.m. Fouke pulled away near the end as our defense got tired and worn down. Fouke 32 - Hornets 20. GTT
