I know that the Cajun is make out of carbon steel, and the bayou classic is made out of stainless steel. But other than that they pretty much look like they are made a like. What is the difference? other than what there made out of. There is a over a hundred dollar difference between the two.

I have looked at both. The cajun is a very solid fryer. It is much heavier built than the bayou. As you said the bayou is made of ss, but if you feel the bayou it seems much lighter and not as well built as the cajun. I work every day in a metal shop and as far as quality the cajun gets my vote. As far as actual operation of the unit I have never seen the bayou in action, but the cajun is one heck of a frying machine.

The Cajun is made in the United States of America. The Bayou is made in China with Chinese steel. I happen to be in the business of making steel. You buy the Chinese if you like, but you will get what you pay for.

The fact that the Cajun is made in America and those are American jobs was worth me paying $100 extra.

Well, I never heard of these things till this week. Now I have yet ANOTHER thing to buy to satisfy my fishing addiction.

Worse, the Fish Oil Recovery Device (FORD) that I invented last summer, and built the prototype, now seems obsolete to you rich guys. I guess I'll still fry in my regular frier and clean my grease with my FORD.

Here's a BIG suggestion. If at least ONE of you guys that own one of these would bring it to the Spring Crappiethon, I'd sure like to see it in operation.........

Buckrub you might as well go ahead an buy one and get it over with, for you know once you get up to fish camp and see these things work you will have to have one, Your already sold on it, it is just now the part of turning loose of that cabbage.

I got a feeling there will be a couple or three at Spring Camp. I will have my 2 basket 4 gallon model there and you are welcome to check it out. Heck, you can even stand over it and do the cooking!!

I volunteered to bring my plain old fish cooker, but hey.........I think I'll be embarrassed to use it now. It'd be like fishing in front of you guys in a wooden v bottom boat, or sumpin.

But I'll cook on yours, no problem. Be glad to.
