I been doing this with curly tails, just removing the tail, but I like the worm idear better. Gotta go to Acadamy this evening for some shopping.
Materials Small jighead, black bass worm, white skirt material. Thread white skirt pieces through black bass worm in an X shape. Cut legs and bass worm to length and thread on small jig. Have phun making jig and catching some pole benders.

only problem will be the legs will dissolve in time from reacting with the worm. don't make more than you will use in a short time. I poke a hook through and use the barb to pull a leg back through as I need them. Also to repair when bream pull the legs out..

We been doing that for a couple of years. Except we have been doctoring up our crappie jigs like we want them.
on the plastics board in the soft plastics page, they have a thread called making the jilly jig. That is where I learned the method.
