There is a Crappie Forum on The AZ Bass Zone :: Arizona bass fishing chat, news and information. We are still working on getting an AZCA website.

Caught a few at Rosey yesterday but it's still tough. Should get crackin in by the end of the month.

It is great to see some Arizona folks on this site. I have only been a member of Crappie.com since June 2008 but I have been researching the site for about 3 years now. Finally decided to become a member and start contributing. I live in Safford, Arizona about an hour from San Carlos Lake where we fish about every other week, though the past few months we have not made it out much...work demands. I took my Father and oldest son out the day after Christmas. We got two bites but didn't hook anything. The lake was murky as all get out. We found a lot of specks up by the dam on the south side of the lake (cliff's) but we could not get them bite anything. I hope to get out this weekend. The lake temp was 54 degrees but like I said, super murky. I was on my way back from Show Low, AZ on Saturday and saw a lot of boats heading back toward globe at about 4:00 PM. I have not heard if anyone is catching anything but the bigons should start biting soon.

TeamCSJE try jigs 3-5ft deep under a cork. with boat in 8-12ft. of water. works well with water temps in the mid 50's good luck!

    Yates,

Thanks for the info. In Arizona we don't seem to have a winter pattern since mid 50's is about all the cold the lakes get down here in the southern part of the state. I will give your tips a try. Do you reel slowly or just let it sit? What kind of corks do you use (brand, style, etc.). I am always looking for new information and willing to try something different.

The size of jig tell you what size of cork, go small...reel it slow, let it sit, pop it a little.. just play with it ..the fish will tell you..
