Believe it or not, there are crappie in Arizona - some big ones. I think state record black crappie is 4lbs 10oz from many years ago. There are primarily black crappie but white crappie are present in several lakes as well. The big crappie are in the desert reservoirs and with temperatures that stay somewhat warm, they grow all year round. You can keep up on Arizona Crappie by visiting the Arizona Crappie Association at http://www.************** (links to like them on Facebook and Instagram provided there as well) - monthly outings to crappie fish and 2 larger events with tournaments per year. And regarding the Let's Talk Fishin' tournaments at Roosevelt Lake, the schedule is posted on their website Let's Talk Fishin | Let’s Talk Fishin
However, we need more fishermen entering the crappie portion of those tournaments to keep them going.
