I can't take the 3digit temps any more. I stay home until there are at least 3 days in a row of 2digit temps. Summer is the time to go to the beach and wade out into the surf. I catch surf-perch, halibut and corbina. If it get's to hot, I just squat down and let a wave wash over me.
Lucky man. I was just out there a few weeks ago and did a charter for the first time. 1/2 day. Caught some Calico bass (tasty), a small (20 - 22 inches) barracuda, and a sculpin (very tasty!). Fun fishing. I love Halibut and would love to be able to go out and catch those. One guy nailed one on my trip. It was probably in the neighborhood of 20lbs.

@Bruce - Yeah, I hit sag last week and got there at 4:30am. I was able to fish until about 10:00 but I should have left an hour sooner cause retrieving my boat and putting everything up by myself was a bit much in the heat. Did catch 4 bass on drop shot though. I totally forgot to try those spinnerbaits you made :o I am planning on hitting it again soon though so I'll make sure to throw them for a while :D

Your funny man :D Yeah, after seeing the excessive heat warning for today and tomorrow I think I might just wait until after the weekend to take the boat out. I am not too interested in melting right now.

I am sitting in the a/c in phoenix, been here for 9 days, moved my son out here for college. The heat is crazy hot (ohh but it is a dry heat, ???? ????) 112 is 112, but i have been wondering where the crappie fishing is. We were in San Diego the other day and the temp there was 80, it was great.

Well, you have Lake Pleasant, that holds crappie, but also has every boater west of Mesa hitting it also. You have Bartlett Lake which is a little farther East in Carefree Arizona, then you need to go up to Roosevelt in Globe or San Carlos thru Globe on the Apache Reservation.Which I believe is the best to catch big crappie.

Not quite as bad as Az., but upper 90's with high humidity here everyday. I'm ready to start seeing cooler days, but unfortunately that's another couple months.:o

But,you do have to think of safety also. What if you go out early in the morning on a weekday and about the time that you think you should get out of there and your boat won't start?lol.Very easily could be the end of your fishing days,Ha.
