That sure is beautiful to look at.......in a picture, from the warmth of my house There's a reason I don't live in MT anymore lol! I don't think a quad is gonna dig you out of that elkman. Nice pic of the elk BTW. It is cool the way the sunlight is hitting it. Elk meat is sooooooo yummy. Magnificent creatures. I saw some big ones this summer in the Whites.

everyone getting excited about san carlos, but after those low lake levels , it may not be as good as it was, hope i'm wrong, but usally after a drop like that, it takes it toll on fish populations,

I've never fished SC before so I am hoping for the best as well. I'd like to try it out this year.

Don't expect too much from SC this year fellas. The lake was down to below 2% and even with the rain we've got, it still needs about 25' more below last years spawning ground is even wet. With the lake so low many smaller crappie are probably being eaten by flatheads and large bass.

When full (only has happened 3 times) SC in a huge lake at over 19,000 acre feet. If the lake where to fill to last year's level (around 30%) in time for a good spawn, it will be a mess of floating debris for months. My hope is that it will get enough water to hold over for next year. That is, if the dam (which is rated the worst in the US) can hold it.
