    Hi,

I don't fish Long lake much cause of the wind. The road is closed right now and the lake is probley frozen. The 211 rd would be the problem right now the last 5 miles would be ok.Let me know when you are thinking about running out there and I can drive out and let you know what is up.I might have to go fish it.
I hit blue ridge the week-end the road opens. There is not a limit on it for the first few week-end.(have to look at the regs)The wife and I fished BR in a snow storm last year and caught 18 fish. All 2lbs or better the largest was 5lbs.

Man, that sounds like a good time. My plan is to hit a rim lake this year right when the roads open too. It'd be great to meet up with you and fish BR at that time if we can do it.
How much advance notice is there of the roads opening? Is there a site with that info or do I need to call the ranger station or something? I usually work weekends but if I know in advance I can get a saturday off.

My buddy works for the forrest service. They really don't post it.He will let me know and I will post it up.There are ice bergs out there and some times they drift and block the ramp.Bring a sledge hammer and you can break through. Its fun but cold.

Thanks Mark! Yeah, I know about the present conditions and am glad to see all the snow - we desperately need it. Hope the incoming storms for the next week pan out for all our lakes & waterways. Especially San Carlos!

We don't usually start making trips up the hill until around Memorial Day. Tentative plans are for a trip to Long Lake the weekend after Memorial Day. If it's ok, I'll bug you then for an update. Thanks for your reply!

    Hey Mark:

If your still up for doing a little recon for me, would you be willing to get me the latest update on road conditions. I plan on being up there the first weekend in June and am interested on the condition of forest road 211 between Lake Mary Road & 87 along with the condition of forest road 83 that leads to the Long Lake.

If your not able to, I totally understand. Thanks
