Any ideas where in Greeson you will place these and when?
Everyone pray for good weather Thursday! We really need to get these in the water BEFORE spring break. We'll start on the next 80 when we get back from break.

I'm not sure when or where we will place them in Greeson. We're on spring break right now. We will get started making the 80 for Greeson not to long after we get back. If I had to guess we will put them in Greeson somewhere between April 27th and May 1st. It will just depend on how quickly we can get 80 crappie condos built.

Have you taken photos of the kids havin' all this fun? Sure would like to see a couple of 'em. It's great you all are doing a project like this that will impact crappie fishing on those lakes for a decade or more. How cool is that?
Thanks for your efforts. <><

Arkie John, I've got a ton of photos of the students working on this project. Unfortunately since they're students I have to be careful where I show their pictures. It's a school thing. However, we're hoping to get this into the newspaper(s), and if we do I'll post a link to it.

I just now noticed that my post updating the drops got deleted. On Thursday the 26th we (the FFA) dropped 37 bamboo crappie condos into Lake Degray with the Corp of Engineers. They should drop the other 43 into the lake this next week.

My dad and I got a chance to fish some of the crappie condos today. We wound up with 25 although they ran a little small. Not to bad for them being in the water only a week. Also, I think most of them are a little deep for the crappie right now. Everyone else crappie fishing was fishing ALOT shallower than we were. 'Course I didn't see very many of them catching fish either.
Also, the word must be really getting out about our project. We had several people ask us if we knew anything about the Corp putting out bamboo.

Wow! I would kill to catch a couple dozen. Are the coordinates for the new condos posted yet? My kids have decided that fishing is no fun cause dad doesn't know where to fish
The guys from the Corp of Engineers came by and picked up the rest of the crappie condos today. They should have them in the lake pretty soon. We're gonna start pouring the next 80 either this Friday or the following Monday.
