That makes for a nice long handled fish scooper
I ate way too much Rez Crappie. Sitting here I've been meaning to post this so here goes.
The handle material is standard 7/8 anodized aluminum tubing to make railings or Bimini Bows. You can buy from a top shop or West Marine. Pick your length, this is a piece of drop laying in my shop. The net is from Academy, they were selling for $7-8. 1 3/16in rivet and some 5 minute epoxy.
You first drill out the rivet in the net handle. After pull the net hoop out. You may have to use a heat gun to get the potting compound to release. After it's out stick it in one end of the tubing a drill a 3/16 in hole in the center. Make sure the rivet goes in the hole all the way to the rivet flange. Remove the rivet, mix up a bit of 5 minute epoxy, enough to fill all the space around the potting compound. Smear epoxy all over everything including a bit inside the tubing then while still wet stick the net into the handle. Line up the rivet hole, install the rivet. Lastly stand the net Handle up so the epoxy will run down around the potting compound stabilizing the net head. Slip the cap off the old handle end and install on the new handle.

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Like a long handle, but I want mine to fold up. H2O Xpress Stowaway Landing Net | Academy
That's a great idea if you have the room.

I probably should ad that I have less than $15 in the whole net - finished as pictured. It's the cheapest way I've found to get a 10ft net.
a lot of folks put them on a telescoping paint roller handle.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I will be putting EVA Rod Grip foam on this one too like my others for flotation. I have it in bright yellow. When a net blows out of my boat it float vertical with the handle 3ft in the air. The yellow makes it easy to see. Once the foam is installed I will post another picture. The foam costs as much as the rest of the net, so I thought to post it made in it's least costly to make form. I only use it when fishing 14ft BGJP's with 8# 8Slick Power-Pro and 1/32 jigs #6 hooks in winter. 16 inch Crappie hooked with #6 hooks don't drag well to the boat. I recently left my other net in storage on The Rez so I didn't have to haul the long thing back & forth.
