My garden is new this year. I really didn't put much effort into it. I bought a load of what was supposed to be 50/50 mix of top soil & compost last year and just placed it on the ground. I didn't do anything to it except spread it on the ground. The mix is really pretty bad and it needs some compost added which I plan to do this fall and into next spring. My eventual goal is to raise the whole area a bit with some timbers as I figure out what area I want to use and how much space I need.
My wife has a degree in horticulture and manages an estate's landscape and gardens. She's amazed anything even grew this year.
I thought about using containers for tomatoes next year, you've got me thinking
And raised beds would keep us old farts from having to bend over so much. Just joined the 50 Club
This thread has gone on almost a whole year. Intimidator and I agreed we'd create a new one each year to prevent any server issues. Super long threads can cause issues because of so many subscribers getting emails at one time for each new post. Not a big deal, just something to try to prevent. We have a big server after all.
Anyway, the new thread is here: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/ohio/...l-2015-2016-a/
Thanks for understanding.
