What are the green and black things in your tackle Brent and also what is the purple thing on your hook.

Go to Walmart and get you some Crappie Niblets in Chartreuse (I told you about them before)...they add a flash of extra color and SCENT...they have seafood in them and dissolve leaving a scent trail...Some don't use them...I do...it just adds something extra IMHO.
The other things in the box and on the hook are Slabs "Gewbers"...they are the same thing, AND REALLY SMELL, PLUS LAST ALOT LONGER...I am Trialing them for him, along with others....I am also trying to talk him into making CHARTREUSE ONES!

The water is dropping...you'll get closer to areas that you need to reach from the bank!
Remember to watch what we talked about...I want to see pics of your first GATOR!..........Don't lip it like a Bass! Your fingers will bleed from hundreds of tiny holes! Also watch the Gill Plate edges, they are sharp as razor blades....grab by body or "chin" area!

I grew up using only live bait fishing with Dad. I've tried various jigs (and had some luck) but have never tried "swimmers". Are yours hand made, or can they be purchased somewhere? To show more ignorance, what the heck is electric chicken? I love to eat chicken, but this one doesn't sound safe :-)

Lol great. Electric chicken is a 2 part coloring of pink and orange in any combo. Keitech are purchasable. Very good action and scent aswell as nice color selection.

Intimidator - so did you dye all of the swimmers in your tackle box, or find some of them in various colors?

I'll pm you info on the swimbaits...Electric Chicken is actually a combo of Pink and Chartreuse....I use a swimbait that has, a white top and a clear bottom, the clear bottom has silver glitter in it....this is the only color in the line that is made without scent due to the color.
When you dye it there is an added deminsion to the colors....I barely dip the head in pink first, then in orange to get a day-glo HOT PINK....then just the paddle in Chartreuse.
I will honestly tell you that color preference at CJ changes with EVERY pattern and sometimes they totally change every year.
last year Solid Chartreuse, then Natural colors, then solid white were the colors.
This year it started out with all pink and orange, then Orange and Chartreuse, then all Chartreuse, then natural colors, now Electric Chicken with a white body....that's why it is imperative if you know fish are present, to change colors if you aren't catching fish...they can be "that picky"!
You'll learn to experiment with colors and find what works best where you fish.

And don't forget to buy MEND-IT...it is a "Super Glue" that welds all plastics (except Z Man) back together, without making them stiff and hard which messes up the action. Google it to buy.

With all the need to keep switching colors, it sounds like the fish like the basic shape/action, but may be quickly learning, based on color, that they aren't real. Perhaps they are smarter than we give them credit :-)

Have you tried Arky's Shiney Hiney? I have a friend in FL who turned me onto these. We fish a brackish spillway near Palatka and catch some NICE SLABS! There is nothing quite like the feeling of reeling in a fish that you think is a good sized bass and it turns out to be a 2 or 2-1/2 lb slab!!!
