Hawkman that ain't the only name she uses, and I don't mean "honey" either.
Not nearly as interesting as some of yours. My last name is Hawks & my wife calls me hawkman so that is what I use as a screen name.
Crappie fishing is my lighthouse of sanity in an insane world,
It keeps me from crashing on the rocky shores of everyday life.
Crappie.com is my beacon of light!

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Mine comes from our oldest cocker spaniel, he's solid black and was named after a hyper blackface kid from a 30's cartoon series. It's probaly not PC, but anybody who might be offended isn't old enough to remember the cartoons. We once had a red mut named Mortimer Snerd, anybody know who that was?
That was Charlie McCarthy's dufous friend. Paul Winchell ripped off the character with Knucklehead Smith. Dang, I'm old. - Roberta

My "handle" has many meanings ......... but, to make a long story short, and get to the main reason for the name - I was taught how to fish by my grandfather. He and my Grandmother raised me from the 5th grade til I struck out on my own at 20 years old. (My parents divorced when I was in the 5th grade, and my Mom had her hands full with my younger sister & brother). My "grands" loved to fish, and Crappie fishing was their first love. They taught by example, but let me make my own decisions - and excel from the good ones, and suffer the consequences of the bad ones. I chose Crappiepappy as a way to honor them, for getting me into the wonderful world of Crappie fishing. Second to that ... it relates to my desire to help "teach" others about Crappie fishing, and pass on my knowledge and experience ..... like your "pappy" would. ..........cp![]()
Before I was turned into a crappie nut :D I used to fish a lot for catfish. I was raised in the south and catfishing was a big part of growing up for me.I enjoyed eating and especially catching them because they put up such a big fight. After getting online a few years back I joined a catfish website and since I caught most of my catfish out of the river near my home in western pennslyvania.I choose parivercat as my nic. So when I found this website on crappie fishing with all the interesting crappie nics. I just keep my catfishing nic. I still catch a nice cat every now and then crappie fishing.![]()

I was raised next To Shiloh Park in West Tn. And have fished the river there at Shiloh For close to 40 years. And have red hair. So I came up with ShilohRed
Everyone used to call me a river rat. AS I was raised on the Tn River below Pickwick Dam. But every board has a river rat. So had to come up with this one.

In 1950 I was crazy about baseball, the Brooklyn Dodgers specifically. That year the Phillies won the National League Pennant by 2 games over the Dodgers who had won in 1949. The Phillies were a young team and given the name Whiz Kids.
When I started playing fantasy baseball on the web I used the name Whizkids. I have used it in a lot of sites where it has not been taken and if it has I will add my birth year or state of residence. I just makes life on the web simpler for me.
I have no handle, just use the name on the ole birth certificate. But, there's a story there too. My father and grandfather and all other Morris's back to 1492 were in the Navy. I broke tradition and joined the Marine Corps. Still get a lump in my throat or a pucker in my butt (you guys who pulled boot there know what I'm talking about) when I think of the front gate at MCRD San Diego. My grandfather wouldn't speak to me for nearly two years until my father finally convinced him that the Corps was part of the Department of the Navy. Anyway, my father's welding (ship-fitter - USS Ajax, Jason & Reclaimer, mid 1960's) teacher at Pearl was named Darryl. My mother tells me he was a drunk. Oh well, he worked for a living, served his country, taught my father a passion for his work, and I'm of Irish descent. I guess that all goes together pretty well.
If anyone can think of a perfect handle that puts crappie, Marine Corps and Irish together, I'll take it. Oh, by the way, you Navy guys have motivated me to change my sig. Thanks.
