Had a buddy want me to take him fishing one day. Met him at the ramp and he climbed onboard with 2 doz minnows in a pail and 2 doz meal worms. As we were idling out I said "let me see what you got for bait, I want to show you a trick that really works" he slid the pail containing the minnows over and handed me the worms. I took the lid off the worms and dumped them in the minnow bucket. He said "Ahhh, adding some fish flavor to the worms??" I said "something like that" and dumped the minnows and worms overboard and said "no live bait allowed on my boat!"
Then he asked what the Heck he was supposed to fish with and I replied "A Jig Man". And he called me JigMan for the rest of the day.
JigMan was already being used so I had to convert to JigMan2

    Crappie66

The crappie part is easy, I like to fish for crappie, and I am the best crappie fisherman.
66 was my football number way back in the day when I first got AOL. So I used crappie66

And now I use the same user name for just about everything I do online, whether it be yahoo euchre, banking, fishing boards, ebay, etc...... Keeps is easy to remember user name and password.

    Default Names

I sell parts for a Buick, Pontiac, GMC dealer so the name gmpartsman just
    seemed natural.

    Default Shellback

I use Shellback as it's a term one uses for a person who crossed the equator aboard a ship. I crossed the "Line" aboard the Forrestal in 1967. I used "Shellback" in hopes that other Navy men would recognize the name and chime in with their experiences. So far it's working pretty good as quite a few here at crappie.com have indentified themselves with their service.

You don't hear this much anymore but the boys that sailed the China Sea were allowed to wear 1 gold circle earring. This was an honor and these folks were mean as Hell. My Dad and a few mates took on some of these folks and was sorry they did. Quite a difference in them and the ones wearing earrings today.....not being disrespectful.....

Self explanatory, friends call me Big J in real life. Ten years ago, would have been know as DAMN YOUR A BIG RASCAL, back when i was bigger around at the chest and not the belly, but many cans of medicine, many loaves of bread and way too much fried food(especially crappie), you now have the FATBOY.

Default Um - It's my name?

I thought about using BassHound to reflect our involvement in basset hounds, but thought everyone would assume the bass fishing was my primary interest. If you see a Blazer with Ohio vanity plates BASSETS, that's me. Funny thing is that model of Bass Tender boat we bought is a BassHound and is hunter green - the same as the Basset Hound Club of America logo that adorns the side windows of the Blazer.

back in the 50's me and my little brother had the opportunity when we was little fellers to spend a few years in an orphanage. things was sorta tough back then with some real a**holes walking the floors. somehow we wound up with a little dog that was a cocky little feller who had about as much use for the floorwalkers as we did. someone named the dog rango and how all us kids loved that dog... one day he dissapeared overnight, like he showed up. Ive favored that name ever since and have had several dogs throughout my life named that. when i went on line 6 o7 years ago they asked for a screen name and rango popped into my head. when i used it,, someone else had already chose it, so i added my year of birth and it was accepted. coming to the message boards i just used rango.

People use to ask me if I ever done any hunting. I would tell them the only hunting I do is hunting for another place to crappie fish. My friend told me that I could catch fish from a mudhole and that I was always seeking new places and new ways to catch crappie, so crappieseeker came about.
