    Default Little Green Box.

I ended up selling mine to someone after I got married. I got about 50 bucks for it. Wish I had it still. It still worked great when I sold it. The guy that purchased it may still have it. They were pretty rugged and consisted on a single circirt board that made contact with those two 6 volt dry cell batteries.

Hang onto that thing Cane pole as it will be worth a lot of money someday.

A flasher will show all the echoes and not cut off 90% of the return echos like a graph recorder does these days.

    Thumbs up

The new Hummingbirds are supposed to be waterproof and are even supposed to float. I would reckon that a unit that would hold up for over 20 years would have to be considered a good one. I am leaning towards Hummingbird more and more every day. I am a coon hunter and plan on spending some of my fur money to buy a good fish finder. From the ads, Hummingbird also have a very easy quick release feature which makes taking them in/out of a boat easy. I live on a lake so I leave my boat in the water some but I wouldn't want to leave my electronics where they could possibly be stolen.
As for cane poles, my wife uses one I found at a yard sale. I use a fiberglass pole but that is because these days, they are easier to find than a good cane pole. I rig some of my fiberglass poles exactly the way I used to rig cane poles. I like to daub crappie fish and you can't beat a good cane pole for daubing. :D
