Although this style is new to me and I have only done it a few times, I find a 1/2oz weight works best for me.

I mainly fish a river with current spider rigging a drop shot rig and i use a 3/4 wt. on bottom of line. I have experimented with a lot of different wts. and the 3/4 has worked out the best for me. BB

When spider rigging, how high should the pole holders be from the boat floor. I have a G3 Eagle 176 and am getting ready to start trolling when the water temp drops. I use Attwood 10" 5 degree pole holders. I will be buying new driftmaster spider rigs in the next few weeks. Should I get the 10 inch model or the 18 inch mode?. Keep in mind that the pole holders have 10" shafts and not 4".

I like my rod holder high enough that I don't bang my knees against the rod butts as I'm spinning back and forth in my seat
