"G", James, Crappieseeker..This is how to make the Jilly Jelly Jig. I will sometimes use hackle, marabou of flashabou. I mailed you some material tonight to experiment with. Always be sure to use a large needle with a large eye. When I attach my jelly jig to the jig head I will use a drop of superglue. Hope this helps some. I know I posted this before but you may have misplaced it.

That is how I tried doing it in the past. I thhink my problem was i was using collared jigheads and it did not work out so well. I could make it work, it just did not look as good as those look.
I want to publicly thank the moderators as well as Snake River for their consideration and approval in making this topic a stickie. This has been posted in the DYI plastics forum for over six months but we were still getting a ton of inquiries on the process. By posting this as a stickie I believe we have helped several youth groups because they now have a project that their groups or even teacher's classrooms can do.
This also may spur many individuals to get into tying jigs by giving them a feeling of confidence that they accomplished something and actually made something that catches fish. Thank you one and all.

When using hackle or marabou you will want to cut the stem at about 2.25 inches from the tip. That stem in that area should be thin enough to just thread a little in the needle eye. When you pull it through, I try to make the overall length about 2 inches.
