    Actually you do not need to put in the funnies or any other newspaper with a lot of colored ink. I have been told that....... Some of the colored ink is toxic to worms.
    I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

    The Maggots looks alot of like Wax Worms, So are they maggots or wax worm or the same thing

    Thats what i was thinking, and No a maggot and wax worm are not the same.

    Yeah, maggots are fly larva. Wax worms are bee moth larva.

    The picture was wax worms. I use them more than maggots.

    Wax worm is a bee moth larvae. Maggot is the larvae of the house fly.

    Here is what I raise my red worms in. I drilled some drain holes in the bottom and added 4 inches of gravel...then I mixed peat moss and potting soil together and filled it about two thirds of the way up. I feed them cheap dry dog food and water them down once a week.

    do you put a few in there to get em started or will the worms come up from the ground through the holes.

    I put some in there to get them started....I put about 200 in that big drink box....in a few months time I had a bunch. That was a couple of years ago...I have not bought a worm since.
