Whizkid one of the guys at work uses Suffix for bass fishing and says he can get farther cast and it holds up pretty good too. The only draw back he has found is cold weather it gets brittle and breaks really easy he said. When cold weather gets here he changes out to a Pline. Just want to let you know that if you did not know. He has been using it since it first came out. I have tried it this year I like it as well waiting to see if it does what he says in cold weather. Thought about trying the Pline. I guess if Suffix does not hold up in the cold I will give it a try.

Been with Suffx near 1 1/2 years for bass and have had no issues in cold weather but I don't go out if it freezing. I use Power Pro for crappie for the strength in case of a big cat, Was going to Suffix on crappie rods but wife threw a fit so I can,t comment on the lighter Suffix lines all I can say is, it is tough.

I use the heaviest line i can get away with depending on water clarity. Mo, lakes very seldom require anything under 6 lb. test. I mostly vertical jig on Truman, water has some stain most of the time so i use 8 io 10 lb. sometimes 12 if thier really in the thick stuff. Come to think of it the only time i use 6lb is when im pitchin at them during the spawn.

My buddy does fishin in the cold like a Dale Hollar. Those smallies up there break it like it was nothing in the cold he said. I usually use the Cablea's brand of line. You can but 2700 yards of the stuff for about $5 or so. It is pretty strong stuff. Or at least the one I got was I really like it for the price. And that is my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I throw away all my 4lb spools after losing that monster crappie. I still think about that fish from time to time. It was the biggest one I have ever seen during the past 5 years, much bigger than the 2.5lb that I caught before. It took him just one dive, the line broke before I could even loosen the drag a bit more. Now I use 6lb stren for casting and 10lb spiderwire braid for vertical jigging. I don't regret much about catching a few less, but I do regret losing the big ones. No more 4lb line for me.

    Man I miss that fish!
