From everthing I've ever read about it Weiss Lake in Alabama is reputed to give up 3and 4 pound Crappie. If I ever hooked one that big I'd be paralyzed and wouldn"t be able to reel!
If you could take one road trip to an out of state crappie lake, where would you go? Guided or not.

not so much for the crappie, but for some big ol walleye, salmon, and or trout!
for crappie, i'd have to say Lake Arklabutla & Tunica Lake
Harrah's, Tunica, MS.
checked on crappie master's website for past results and last year, their best 14 fish weighed an impressive 30lbs!!! that's the kind of averages i could get used to
Why do I have to press 1 for English?
IMO you can't beat NW Mississippi. The three lakes all close together are phenominal. Sardis, Grenada, and Enid. We fished Sardis and Grenada in April of this year (pic attached). Heard great things about Enid, and Arkabutla is close by there as well I think.

I've been to Weiss several times. Beautiful lake, VERY shallow. Got a very nice crappie on the wall from down there. I've never been able to hit it just "right" though. I will definitely go back some day. I think would like to try some where in northern Miss next time.
Reelfoot was good to us a few years ago. Funny story about that:
First time we had ever been to Reelfoot. We show up with this big ol fish and ski Ranger boat and all the good ol boys at the hotel we're kind of giving us looks and snickers. They ask "you ever been here before" and we of course said no. The next morning we found out why they were laughing.
It's so shallow and stumpy that you need a flat bottom john boat almost just to get around. Great lake, but not for big bass boats for sure.
I would have to go to sipi.
Sardis, Pickwick, and Grenada.
Although i would rather be in michigan, Saginaw bay, or Bay de noc. Pulling out walleyes, pike, and muskies.
ps
nice pics
I've also been to Kentucky Lake several times. Last year caught my pb of 2lb 1oz. Thought about having him mounted, but I let him go for someone else to enjoy. They also have a big Shellcracker and bluegill population. Shellcrackers over two pounds and Bluegill over a pound. Fun lake to fish, but kind of expensive to stay anywhere. Jack
