I will most likely be on Neely Henry this Friday myself. I would try fishing around boat docks and try to fish the creek channels and river channel. I will be in a green looking Ranger with trolling racks on it so if you see me give me a shout.
Hey guys. I'm new to Crappie.com. I'm also new to Alabama. I've been living in Alabama about a year. I live in Jacksonville. I'm still trying to find my way around. I've fished Neely Henry a few times this season as well as a few other small spots (Lake Hillabee, Coleman Lake, Mump Creek, and a few other creeks) . I even went to Weiss once. I never did very well with the Crappie. Any recommendations on where to fish? I caught five on Neely a week ago. I feel like I could have done better. But where exactly should I fish on Neely? I'll probably try again this Friday if it doesn't pour down. Any help would be appreciated.

try shooting docks and also look for them back out on the ledges of the main channel

Welcome from Albertville Alabama Glad to have ya onboard.
Thanks for the welcomes and replies! Last week when I fished Neely I caught the 5 that I kept around boat sheds and docks at about 3-4 feet on shiners. I thought they would be deeper by now. That's why I thought I could have done better. I figured I was just grabbing the stragglers. I don't know much about fishing them deep. But I guess this is a good place to learn!
Welcome nick from the muddy bayous of south Louisiana. 5 ain't bad for someone who says they never did good on Crappie. And you're right, this is about the best place to learn about how to catch'em. CrappieDotCom gets my nod of approval only because of the generosity of it's members.

Hi Nick, Welcome aboard, glad to help anytime. Been catching fish in 12' to 16' of water on creek and river ledges. Friends say they are catching plenty on deep docks. GOOD FISHINF, Terry.
