We recently got a camper near Centerville and have been fishing the lakes in the area and I haven't had much luck finding crappies anyone know of any in this or Three Rivers area?
Look in water 8-20' deep. Try brush, or, above the brush. This time of year, a live minnow is about all they a guarateed to bite. If you can find some standing timber, try using a jig, then stick a minnow on it through the eyes. Drop the jig next to the tree and let it go to the bottom. Then, pull it up about a foot off the bottom and let it sit there for about 20-30 seconds. If nothing hits it, very slowing start reeling it up. If you go too fast, it will not give a finicky crappie time to bite it. They will not chase a bait up too far. So you must give them time to hit it. Also, try the deeper side of lake points, or anywhere there seems to be a sudden drop off. Visit the Main forum for all the Crappie info you need, there are too many people that are just waiting to help someone like you. You might "repost" this on the main board.
Good luck!
