Did you happen to get a weight on that big one?
The spawn is about over here but we're catching some gooduns 6 to 11-feet deep on Shiners and Rosy Red minnows under slip floats.
The big one in this picture was 17-inches long and went straight to the taxidermist.

Yes, but it was poor - just under 2-pounds. Both the males and females have lost a lot of weight while spawning this year.Originally Posted by kunes
There was a long period when the water temps hovered just below spawning temps and when it would finally got warm enough it would drop again so they have really had to move a lot this year.
Had a girl catch a male black crappie three weeks ago that was 16.5-inches and weighed 2-pounds, 3-ounces. It was the heaviest male crappie I have seen in a long time. Of course my digital camera crapped out on me the same day so I didn't get a good picture of it.
