Me and a buddy went Thursday afternoon to try the crappie north of W bridge. What a difference a few days make. The lake is at least 4 ft higher than it was over the weekend and is a lot muddier than it was. We only caught 6 keepers and a few shorts. I don't know how they even found our jigs, we must of hit them on the head. We need the rain to shut off and let the lake clear up.

Last sat it seemed like the tide was going to turn and they were going to start up, then the rain. I have been out to the lake three times since sat with no more than 2 keepers on any of the three trips. I think this weather really slowed things down. So anyone have Smithville experience and want to venture a guess when the water will clear up and the bite will improve?
