    Default Life Jackets

I have two life jackets one for me and one for the wife, they inflate by way of a C02 cartridge, how long will these cartridges last, are they safe and functional after they exceed the replace date?

Most say to replace every two years and for no more than it costs go ahead and do it. You can't put a price on a lifesaving device and peace of mind! I have learned to wear mine 100% of the time I'm on the water. I'm a great swimmer but if I strike my head and get knocked out.... well you know the rest of the story.

Also remember that those inflateables only count as a floatation device if you wear them. The self inflat type need to have the activator replaced about once a year

I dont have any of this type but all of our pilots have to wear them, we take the co2s off every three mouths and blow up the bladders manualy for 12 hours to insure that thay don't leak and you would be surprised at the amount that fail.
    Just my two cents:D
