I would say go with 2. I do not know the size of your boat but I would probably buy 2 around 36".
I'm looking at buying a drift sock and have been reading that the larger the better for heavy boats with winds of 10 MPH or more, but see were the bigger ones get caught up a little more than the small ones. Was wondering if two 26" sock wold hold as well or better than say a 44" and not have the over all size to deal with?

Have you ever heard that two heads are better than one??? Well the same satnds true for drift socks... I would recommend that you go with two. As far as the size goes, the package should have a chart to show what size you need for the size of the boat that you have.

Get two. You can adjust drift speed.
I think the mistake a lot of us make is thinking the state-appointed shrink is our friend.
we run two different sizes for different wind speeds. we also run them together if the wind is over 15 mph
