    Default Old Ford Trucks

Does anyone know of any good sites, particularly forums for old ford trucks ('50's models)? I own a 1953 ford pickup that I'm wanting to eventually restore. It's complete, but needs a good bit of work to get it running (electrical, brakes).

    Any sites are appreciated!

    You might look here
Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - Ford truck and SUV owners and enthusiasts Community And Information Source.

    And here
Classic Truck Forum at Classic Trucks Magazine

If you want a big block to put in there, let me know. I have a 429 (not boss) and transmission in my carport. Needs rebuild.

When you get done I've got a '52 that needs some work done on it. I love that year range on the pickups.

I'm planning to just get it running and drive it for now. It's still got the original v6 in it. It's in pretty good shape considering it's age.

I used to love driving and working on the old trucks. They have almost all gone now. Still have a bed for a Ford pickup in great shape out at my shop plus a bunch of parts for the fat fendered Chevys. Makes me want to start again but getting to old to bust bolts anymore.

You better look again at that engine. I bet it is a flat head V8 if it is original.

Last year of the American made flat heads if it is a 1953. Truck had 106 hp.

Jerry Bush, a friend of mine restores old vehicles. I do some electrical for him sometimes.

If you run into trouble, I will get get his shop number wherever I put it.
He is restoring a late 40's model Ford panel wagon presently. He has a 53 truck too.

He don't fool with the internet and he don't fish. He knows cars though.

Yeah, it's definitely a V6 not a flat head. In '53 they used both motors. It would be worth a lot more if it had a flat head in it.

I'm just in the researching phase right now. Not planning to restore it, just get it running and drive it.

    thanks guys
