Question Can you fix a bent motor clamp?

    Greetings all,
I bought a used 35 HP evinrude with a bent motor clamp. Has anyone ever had this problem? Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this problem? The bend is just enough that it will not screw in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Grace be with you all,

Is it just that the threads are stretched by the bend and not allowing the thing to screw in? If that's the case, you could most likely just tap the opening and try it again. If it's bent too bad, perhaps looking for a replacement part is in order.

Is it the clamp part itself or the tightening bolt ? Aluminum?

Default Found the Motor Clamp - expensive!!

Greetings all, I havn't been on in a while. I finally found a new motor clamp. Easy fix but expensive. $33.00 for the screw clamp. It will pay to buy an old motor for parts.
    Thanks for the advice.

Didnt comment before, but that is what I figured you'd have to do. Atleast it's fixed and you can go fishing!
