I don't "play" it. I just invest steadily. I think it's a great time to buy.

I put in a little bit each month--have since I was 21. Looked at my last quarterly statement and decided to just file the next one in the envelope! hahaha

Some very good comments and all true.
So what stocks are you buying or looking at?
I just sold my bp the other day.
And still holding sol, solr, spir although all took a pretty good hit today.
I have been looking at fnm waiting for a good 10-20% one day drop to buy but it has not been fluxuating very much lately so im weary.
Ive thought about shorting gm:D, because i dont se any way its going to go up but i dont know that i want to mess with it.

No individual stocks for me -- just very broad, index mutual funds.

My 401K took a $13,000 loss ..when I retired Nov 01, of this year..I was able to roll it over tax free into my retirement system. This saved me from any future loss as in reality the 401K does not exist any longer.

I bought Ford a couple months ago when it was less than $2 a share and I have made money. Ford will be a long term investment for me I figure when it gets up around $9 per share I will sell. As far as my other funds I have lost 70K. I will just keep riding it out. Don't forget as share price go down you still have the shares you bought they are just not worth as much. I believe the market will go down more. We have not hit the bottom yet IMHO. The banks took money from the Fed and are not giving loans. Which causes people not to buy big ticket items. Product does not sell inventories biuld up. Then workers get laid off and on and on. Which scares people who quit buying which causes inventories to build up............
The banks are also not loaning to companies who borrow then repay, borrow repay. They can't meet expenses. So they cut workers.
Right now I am tracking Catipillar. They are laying off most or all contract labor, not giving bonuses etc. Cat sells world wide and the world economy is in a down ward spiral. Cat is a very well run company. If it hits the low $20s I'm in!

    my 2 cents

Good seeing ya zappa, nice to hear someone else is trading. I lost a bunch also last year but have been doing pretty good lately. I drug my feet on GM should have shorted it yesterday morning it dropped 20%and then more in after hours, doh. Ill probably never make back as much as i lost but now is the time to try, plus i just ordered $300 in jig hooks from cabelas on clearance so i may have to do a quick trade to justify the cash:rolleyes:. Ill never need hooks again.
Im also watching IMDI i think it is right now waiting for a drop to 1.50 or so.
Im trading to make up for my loss and then as soon as we hit 2009 ill be long waiting for atleast 100%, is hoping for 300-400% greedy:D. Time to hit the bricks, go to work make a penny.
