The ones I ,m using now are H shaped and they snap together to store them-from cabelas I think- works good for me
Its time to retire mine. The last one I threw in at Sardis about half sunk. Told Beagle that its time for new ones. What kind do you all like? Any preferences or are they pretty much the same?

Waypoint Markers
We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."
We use the H shape but when they go bad I;m going to the round ones
The H style sometimes don't unroll all of the way. I was thinking about the round ones also but they look like they might not stop unwinding once the weight hits bottom. Especially if its windy or in a current. I still think they might be the way to go.

I prefer this method for marking waypoints....easy to retrieve after dark to!:D
A better marker
Progressive Marine Insurance SUCKS!. If you hit a submerged object they will try to prove manufacturers defect....stay away from them.
Why don't you make your own out of swim noodles? Cut them around 6-8" and run the line thru them and tie off to themselves. I also run some 1/2" PVC thru them and glue caps on both ends. Then I install a small screw eye in one end then attach 25' of line and add some type of weight. Its cheap and it works.

i,ve got the h style and the round ones also, i prefer the h style because the round style has such a smaller rolling up surface that it takes alot longer to roll up.
