Default Toughest day in a while

Well fellas,it's going to be one of the toughest days of my life today.
Gonna put down my 12 yr. companion Holly. She's been sufferin' from Congestive Heart Failure and it's progressed to the point she no longer has any quality of life.
Spent all night petting her and sayin' my goodbye's.
Decided to take a moment and type this out.
Just waitin 'til the Vet is available as I'm not man enough to do it myself.
I've had dogs die in the past but this one's really sentimental as we got her shortly after we lost our first child.
There are better dogs out there, but not many.
Not going to get another one any time soon.
I figure this ones gonna hurt for a long time.

Sorry to hear about Holly. I've had/got good dogs now. It hurts when you loose one. Memories are priceless though. Hang tough bud.

Kit, words aren't ample but at least know that many of us have been there and that we all share in your grief and send our support. She was a lucky girl to have you for a friend.

Kit it's amazing how attached we get to our critters. We have a black lab(Sam) that will be 12 in May. I know she is in the twilight of her years right now and enjoy her company every day while she is still with us.

The wife and I have two young ladies that grew up with that dog and we send the youngest off to college next fall. I just know we will be in a similar situation when both them girls are away which will make it even harder the day we have to let Sam go to her maker.

Celebrate the good memories....thats what make the passing a little easier.

Prayers to you and yours on this difficult day.

Sorry for your loss, Kit. I've been there myself and the good memories are the ones we need to hang onto.

Sorry Kit.....Having to make that decision is one of the toughest I've had to make also.
I just KNOW it was a big one!!!
