Colored hooks?
Back in the early 80's I happened on to some short shank gold light wire hooks with what appeared to be plastic shrink wrap or enamel paint on the shank. The size was close to a #1 aberdeen with a shank about half as long as the regular aberdeen. I have been looking for them ever since with no luck. Is anyone familiar with these hooks and if so can you advise where I might find them? They are great for crappie when using minnows. Best color was hot pink.
Thanks
Jetree

Have seen colored hooks in my local bait shop before. Looked to me like they had the thin plastic coating on the shanks. Think they were made by Gamakatsu. Hope this helps.

jetree- i think, but not sure, but was that thing you discriped, called a Flutter Bug ? I remember a bait/ lure called that but cant remember who made it.
jamminjigs.com, has the Flutter Bug in the 59.cent jig selection, take a look and see if that is what you are talking about.

I have seen some colored hooks on the shank on the northland tackle website under either the ice fishing or crappie section.

Thanks fellas. Northland Tackle is the spot. They have zackly what I'm looking for. Thanks again.
HINT: Put a minnow on one and the crappie can't leave it alone.
