I caught one of those around here, somehere. I think it may have been at EF.
Here's a rare (for Ohio) Black Nose Crappie, I caught 10/2/08 on Caesars Creek.

I thought those were a hybrid or something from what some Dale Hollow guys told me. They are thick in Dale. I wouldn't have thought they would occur naturally. I wish there were a bunch in Ohio lakes though. They have a little wild streak ii 'em., A lot of the ones we caught at Dale Hollow came out of the water and faught almost like a bass.

I thought they were a hybrid too. Maybe there's some natural cross breedidng does occur. I've caught a few at Ky Lake also but all the ones I've caught were dinks. If they fight harder, bring 'em on.
We got em in louisiana on the ouachita river, lake chicot also in southeast arkansas
I stocked my pond 6 years ago with many types of fish (crappie being one of them) using company from cincinatti. To my surprise today 4 out 5 crappie that is landed are black nosed crappie. They are getting pretty big and yes I do think they fight harder.
