    Default Dularge Trout

My daughter stole away yesterday to try our luck and lucky were we. We left them biting when we couldn't stand the gnats anymore. Now mind you, they weren't biting us, they got to be a pain in the eyes and ears and nose. We were actually choking on them by breathing them in. Well here are a couple of pictures Misty took before we fileted them up.

    40 specs

    1 flounder

one guy with a coonskin hat. (pete, does that make me a coonie)

We had a grand time and hope to do many more.

NICE CATCH !!! Making great memories .

The gnats can be BAD!!!. I have left big trout, every cast, just could not handle the gnats.

Gene when I first saw the photos I thought you had a "FRO"

(I had forgot about the "salt water" section of the forum.)

Dwayne we caught these on Berkley Power Baits (soft swim baits with hooks already rigged) chartreuse and one that had a blue back. The blue one did slightly better.

LFN that is the purpose of the hat, to keep my ears warm. It does a great job. Many years ago I used to trap the swamps around my house and sell the furs to a local buyer. Because of the high quality pelts I was providing him with, he gave me a troopers style coonskin hat made in Germany with Louisiana coon skins. He said that the hat was worth way over 100 dollars and believe me when it's cold out side, I would agree with him wholeheartedly. Its great for boat riding. Well my Lab liked it as well. In fact she liked it so much she ate it. I've replaced it with a lower quality hat but it still works great.

Greg, my hat (hair do) does draw a lot of attention. In fact as we were unloading the fish from the boat a lady passing on the street stopped, looked real hard, rolled down her window and said "hey, I really like your hat". Its a good conversation starter. I have an older daughter that as a kid used to refuse to go anywhere with me when I wore it.
    To her it wasn't cool.
