crappie beds?

Do crappie make beds like bluegill do? Beds that you can find with a 997?

sorta do but unless the water is unusually high,and the fish spawn in deep water no need to try to find them on a depth finder a jig or minnow works best tossed to the bank. we often see the backs of crappie sticking out of the shallows at spawn time. all the pearch/bluegill make little groups of beds and the crappie I have noticed dont. just dont think I could get shallow enough with the depth finder to do any good If I am that shallow I am gonna see the beds just by looking . later

I have seen photos from the 997 of bluegill beds but never any of the crappie beds, just wondering if they do it differently?

T he hummingbird 1197ci will read horizontal in 22 in of water, and yes you can see the fish.
