Laid back Saturday. We we lost in our own world. The Crappie Gods were good to us.
You can see where/what/etc we were fishing. No offset on sonar. We were fishing a small drop 12-15 foot. Fish were handing tight to stumps. I told you folks sometimes I just knock them in the head on the stumps.

The fishes were gobbling down the minners. I Ky rigged and floated a minner. Brenda floated minners as usual. We were busy with four poles. One time, we had all poles with fish. What a "good" mess to be in.:)

Here are a few pics of Saturday's outing.

Here 'de drops we were gettin' fish from. I ain't a tellin' nuthin'.

Looks like a perfect day!!

It was. Little overcast, cool breeze, little ripple on the water, bait fish, and time to enjoy God's treasures.

Do you ever fish the backwater at the springville pumphouse? I have bass fished it with a friend and saw several people catching crappie.

I haven't fish that area in decades. I did boat over in the area when the water got over the Pumphouse dam this past early spring. I was just tooling around in my Jon boat.

I have friends that fish the area. Yep. There are some big crappie back there. I fish West Sandy out from Britton Ford a lot. It is close by. No sense wasting gas when I can get fish here. Sometimes I go to the power lines. My wife don't like fishing the main channel, so I fish close to home. I do pretty good for an old man.

Yep, it don't always take big $$$ boats and equipment to catch'em. For many reasons, the fish I caught out of ol' jon years ago just meant a lil' more to me than the way I catch them today....

I really like your lil jon boat, Tom. Looks a lot like mine! ;) The only thing missing is the empty plastic coffee "can" porta potty. LOL

I got high hopes on in the morning here. Hope to do almost as well as the old man that inspires me! (you!)

I use the internal battery. It is good for up to 15 hours (depending on back light setting). I loose my "sea legs" in 3-4 hours. After this time, I feel like I got the seat pole stuck up my tail pipe. Gotta get out the boat for a while and remove the pole.:(

Shoot Tom I have 2 of those in the Lund. LOL One front and one in the back. His and hers.
Man that makes me smile and think back to my John boat. I had so much fun out of them.
I got my first boat at age 10. It was a 1448 Home made wooden john boat. Man the joy of being 10 and the boat at the dock ready to go up river. It was 5 years before I had a down river motor.LOL Hard to paddle back up the Tn river.
